| The clerk in the supermarket told me that merchants have to put in their safe margin when labeling expiration date for liability reason. For example, the expiration date for egg is usually one or two weeks before possibility of eggs going bad. I would exercise caution but not too strict on expiration date. The "best by" date has less liability issue and therefore less safe margin. Usually they did taste less than prime when passed best by date. So, I would not let them sit that long to reach the best by date. ... |
